Flexo Press Operator Trainee

Responsibilities

• Learn how to interpret our job orders
• Learn how to identify proper material is being used
• Learn how to properly make labels for packaging
• Ensure everything is at the press for the job at hand
• Absorb knowledge of loading raw material onto the butt splicer for continuous run
• Absorb knowledge of changing matrix (waste) roll on the fly
• Absorb knowledge of assisting in changeovers including switching out print cylinders, washing up ink stations, and printing plates
• Absorb knowledge of using the rewind tables for taking out splices and bad labels out of finished rolls
• Watch the web for imperfections & overall quality while running continuously
• Maintain a clean and organized work area for easy transfer from one shift to the next and overall accuracy
• Double check paperwork, part numbers, and labeling matchup with the item running

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• One to three years related experience or training
• A minimum of one year of flexographic printing press experience preferred
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
