About the role

The Flexographic Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Schedule: 3rd shift Sun.–Thur. 9:45 pm–6:00 am (*initial 2 weeks training is completed on 1st shift Mon.–Fri. 5:45 am–2:00 pm).

Pay

Competitive compensation: Base hourly rate (based upon experience) plus a $1.50 shift differential once you complete an estimated 2-week 1st shift training and move to 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines; report all safety concerns or issues to immediate supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by completing daily housekeeping assignments
  • Complete make-ready in accordance with the Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers are used
  • Complete all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks
  • Perform press-side quality checks
  • Operate press to produce product in accordance with customer specifications while maintaining quality, waste, and press efficiency
  • Maintain consistent quality during the production run, including critical checks for copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion
  • Ensure conformance to all other quality checks
  • Follow all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard
  • Complete press make-readies in an efficient manner
  • Perform all required equipment maintenance duties, including cleaning plates, cylinders, and ink pans, and lubricating press as needed
  • Input all required information into the GlobeTek system for material usage and time accurately and promptly

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years as a printing press operator experience and/or training

Qualifications

The physical demands of this position require:

  • Standing, using hands to finger, feel, and touch; reaching with arms and hands; talking and hearing
  • Frequent walking
  • Occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
