Responsibilities

• Safely drive and transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials in a company-owned vehicle
• Operate a hand-held scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle
• Strictly observe operating policies, procedures, and service schedules
• Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction
• Load and unload company vehicles with appropriate equipment
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior
• Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly vehicle
• Perform route duties that vary based on client and business needs; must be able to perform all duties across all assigned routes, which may change from time to time
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients
• Build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture
• Drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions
• Regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting items off storage racks
• Handle varying item weights and physical demands, including walking long distances and standing for long periods of time

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Must be 19 years of age with an active driver’s license for 3 years
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability
• Familiarity working with and adapting to technology
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points
• Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screen
• Excellent driving history
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination depending on location and local mandates

Pay

$19/hr base pay. Rural route (Virginia, Deer River, Brainerd) pays an additional $1/hr after 10pm, for a $20/hr rate.

Schedule

Required availability: Mon-Fri 12pm–12am. Regular shift: Mon-Fri 12:00pm–8:30pm.
