About The Job

We are seeking a highly motivated 3rd Shift Supervisor to lead overnight operations within Flex manufacturing. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth shift execution across both production and inspection functions, with full accountability for meeting production targets and maintaining operator readiness. This position operates in a low-support environment (limited engineering and maintenance coverage), requiring strong independent decision-making, ownership, and consistent follow-through to ensure stable and predictable execution.

Responsibilities

  • Shift Execution & Production Flow: Ensure smooth operation of all production and inspection activities during the shift; monitor WIP flow across all operations to identify and address bottlenecks; drive execution of production goals and ensure alignment to schedule priorities; take immediate corrective action to recover performance when targets are at risk
  • Staffing & Coverage: Manage staffing assignments in real time to maintain coverage and flow; adjust labor allocation based on workload, priorities, and constraints
  • Training & Operator Readiness: Oversee operator training progress and readiness for independent work; ensure operators are following standardized work and process requirements; reinforce proper escalation behaviors (stop and escalate vs. working through issues)
  • Quality & Process Control: Ensure adherence to work instructions, travelers, and process requirements; take ownership of quality containment decisions when issues arise; stop production when necessary to protect product quality
  • Decision-Making & Escalation: Independently identify and resolve production issues in real time; initiate engineering or maintenance escalation when required; operate effectively with limited off-shift support resources
  • Communication & Shift Handoffs: Provide clear and accurate communication of WIP status, risks, and open issues; ensure effective transition between shifts with no loss of information
