Fleet Vehicle Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical vehicle fleet analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will utilize fleet management tools to optimize fleet performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness to meet the organization’s fleet needs throughout the entire fleet. This will be accomplished by collaborating with branch managers, territory directors, the safety team, and the fleet management team.

Responsibilities

• Stay current on federal, state, and local regulations governing fleet operations, including vehicle inspections, emissions standards, and driver licensing requirements.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to fleet performance, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle utilization.
• Partner with business leaders to improve fleet performance based on KPIs relating to maintenance, vehicle uptime, and repair turnaround times.
• Organize and maintain fleet telematic needs.
• Track when vehicles need replacement and work with fleet management to complete and maintain this process.
• Collaborate with the safety team to acquire new and up-to-date safety features.
• Evaluate fleet management processes and work with leaders to improve them.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and dashboards to management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
• Partner with the fleet management provider and business leaders to engineer future vehicle needs and order requirements.
• Manage license and title needs per fleet requirements.
• Monitor fleet industry technology to improve overall fleet safety and performance.
• Collaborate with vehicle upfitters to design and implement delivery truck specifications and requirements.
• Monitor and track vehicles throughout the build process to ensure specifications and timelines are met at final delivery.
• Evaluate and manage relationships with suppliers and service providers, including negotiating contracts and service agreements.
• Monitor vendor performance to ensure high-quality and cost-effective services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field (preferred).

Skills

• Aptitude for communicating with various levels throughout the organization.
• Excellent track record of providing superb customer service.
• A “self-starter” who can seek resolutions independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Proficiency in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
• Willing to travel as needed (less than 25%).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
