Fleet Technician (So.-No Grp.#)
Job Responsibilities
This position is 2nd shift (hours are 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm)
- Maintains, repairs, and services vehicles and equipment that are essential to other work groups to ensure that they are safe, functional, and available when needed and in accordance with DOT regulations
- Performing troubleshooting and diagnosing current or potential vehicle and equipment malfunctions
- Temporary or permanent repairs and component rebuilding on trucks, construction, automotive and auxiliary equipment
- Preventative maintenance
- Miscellaneous duties as required or assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Applicant must have a minimum of two years’ experience as an automotive or truck mechanic within the past four years
- Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s requirements for driving
- The selected applicant must obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) within 90 days of entry into the job
- The applicant must comply with DOT commercial driver’s license (CDL) drug and alcohol testing requirements
Testing Requirements
Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) - Other level: Comprehension of pictured mechanical principles such as gears, levers, pulley systems, water flow, etc.; arithmetic skills in calculating distances shown in prints and drawings; and the ability to read and understand written material.
Pay Information
The minimum posting range is $33.12 and the maximum posting range is $55.19. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
