About the role
This position is represented by Local 2150 and operates on 2nd shift (2:30 pm - 11:00 pm).
Responsibilities
- Maintains, repairs, and services vehicles and equipment to ensure they are safe, functional, and available when needed, in accordance with DOT regulations
- Performs troubleshooting and diagnosing of current or potential vehicle and equipment malfunctions
- Conducts temporary or permanent repairs and component rebuilding on trucks, construction, automotive, and auxiliary equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance
- Handles miscellaneous duties as required or assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience as an automotive or truck mechanic within the past four years
- Valid driver’s license and must meet the company’s requirements for driving
- Must obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) within 90 days of entry into the job
- Must comply with DOT commercial driver’s license (CDL) drug and alcohol testing requirements
Qualifications
Testing requirements include comprehension of pictured mechanical principles such as gears, levers, pulley systems, water flow, etc.; arithmetic skills in calculating distances shown in prints and drawings; and the ability to read and understand written material.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $33.12 to $55.19 per hour. The starting salary within this range will be based on relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
