Fleet Technician Assistant
About the role
The Fleet Technician Assistant is an entry-level position within the Fleet Department of Pike, a leading provider of construction, repair, and engineering services for electric and gas utilities, as well as telecommunications companies.
Responsibilities
- Provide technology support to the Fleet Department.
- Travel to various field work locations throughout Pike's operations.
- Learn and troubleshoot Pike’s various electronic operating GPS devices.
- Troubleshoot various GPS devices on company equipment.
- Maintain an organized list of daily repairs and equipment checks.
- Cookordinate with Pike crews to determine the locations and dates necessary to perform repairs.
- Drive to and from many Pike field locations safely using a company-issued vehicle.
Requirements
- Capable of learning Pike’s various electronic operating GPS devices.
- Able to troubleshoot various GPS devices on company equipment.
- Capable of maintaining an organized list of daily repairs and equipment checks.
- Coordinate with Pike crews regarding the locations and dates necessary to perform repairs.
- Drive to and from many Pike field locations safely using a company-issued vehicle.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Have computer knowledge, especially in Microsoft Excel.
- Have a High School Diploma.
- Be able to work in an outside environment.
- Be able to work overtime when required.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; operate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Frequent exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
- Occasional exposure to noise levels in the work environment and job sites that can be loud.
- Work in outside weather conditions.
