About the role

Fleet Mechanics play a key role in the success of PBNA by ensuring the reliability of our fleet and supporting the safety of our Drivers. You will work with a high degree of independence while performing PMs and repairs, leveraging leading-edge technology and programs such as PM using voice application, Noregon diagnostics, Uptake predictive analytics, and TAAS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform PMs and repairs on Pepsi’s diverse fleet equipment including automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), vans, and forklifts
  • Conduct advanced diagnostics across OE platforms (Volvo, International, Freightliner, Maxon, electric vehicles, Material Handling Equipment, and more)
  • Perform high-level repairs such as engine and driveline, aftertreatment and emissions, and safety systems
  • Adapt and build repair and maintenance capability for alternative fuel applications including electric vehicle, CNG, and B100
  • Diagnose failures, disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary
  • Maintain documentation and records such as vehicle records and pre-trip checklists
  • Answer service calls and support Pepsi’s strong safety culture by adhering to all safety standards and procedures

Requirements

  • Must have your own basic hand tools
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass Forklift Driving Skills test (if applicable)
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without an accommodation)
  • Experience or training involving hydraulic and air brake systems
  • Experience performing aftertreatment and emissions repairs (e.g., class 6–8 diesel)
  • Experience performing driveline repairs (e.g., class 6–8 diesel)
  • Experience using diagnostic platforms (e.g., Noregon, Snap-on, Nexiq, Alltel, etc.)

Helpful experience

  • Removing and replacing mounted wheels to torque specs
  • Utilizing diagnostic trouble codes
  • Parts management and inventory controls
  • Working under limited supervision
  • Using shop tools (engine hoists, welding, changing tires, small tools)
  • Preventative maintenance programs and activities (oil changes, documentation, tracking miles and usage hours, identifying and repairing defects)
  • Working with computers (iPad, desktop computers, hand-held computers, laptops, performing diagnostics)
  • Repairing forklifts (propane fuel/electrical/battery systems, hydraulic systems, pallet jacks, etc.)
  • Manufacturing standard manuals (OEM support tools, current standards, electronic modules)
  • Repairing heavy-duty equipment (class 8, 7, 6 and medium-duty trucks, brakes, tires, engines, liftgates, Thermo King heater and reefer units, etc.)
  • Gas and/or diesel automotive repair
  • Engine repairs (class 6–8 diesel)
  • Safety systems repairs
  • Brakes Certification
  • ASE Electrical Certification
  • ASE Heavy Duty Certification
  • ASE Suspension Certification
  • ASE, MACS or Military AC Certification
  • Driving trucks requiring a Class A or B CDL
  • Repairing light trucks (EV trucks, gas/diesel trucks, vans, support vehicles, etc.)
  • Shift work (on-call, 24/7 availability, 2nd/3rd shift, flexible work weeks)
  • Hotwork/Welding Certification or welding experience

$36.45 per hour (target pay)
