Fleet Sr. Mechanic

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs visual and mechanical tests of vehicles or equipment to determine the nature and extent of repairs needed.
• May use electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Affixes, aligns, or replaces chassis parts, such as steering assemblies, brakes, wheels and axles.
• Assists in training personnel in standard job methods and procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, and safe working practices.
• Performs preventative maintenance and inspections on construction equipment, generators, trucks, trailers, and small equipment.
• Performs general repairs found on preventative maintenance inspections.
• Performs DOT inspections in accordance to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
• Maintains tools and equipment in proper condition by cleaning, sharpening and oiling; keeps work area in a neat and orderly condition.
• Performs related work as required.

Must be able to perform safety sensitive functions.
