Job Summary

As a Shop Supervisor I, you'll supervise daily Shop operations, monitor work volume, assist in work scheduling, and provide / coach on responsive customer service.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Management / Customer Service:

  • Develops / demonstrates basic technical knowledge related to positive Partner relations, coaching, and Partner development
  • Provides Partners performance feedback
  • Provides direct assistance to resolve Partner issues and concerns; escalates if needed
  • Assists in developing Partner work schedules to ensure business needs are met
  • Communicates with / coaches Partners to ensure understanding of / commitment to daily business goals
  • Develops thorough understanding of / monitors and adjusts product flow processes to ensure on-time delivery and equipment slotting schedules are achieved
  • Develops an understanding of / monitors productivity and throughput against goals; takes appropriate actions to meet goals
  • Practices / coaches on expense control
  • Monitors daily work volume; recommends appropriate balance of staffing levels and overtime
  • Works with leadership team and Partners to develop a thorough understanding of root causes of equipment / product damage; collaborates with all Partners to reduce damage and increase equipment life
  • Ensures adequate readiness levels of all vehicles / equipment to meet business needs
  • Researches / responds to customer inquiries; makes necessary corrections

Safety / Sanitation:

  • Fosters / promotes compliance with process, facility, and governmental safety requirements
  • Maintains / fosters a clean, safe, well-organized, and pest-free facility
  • Identifies, addresses, and resolves sanitation, maintenance, and safety issues

Qualifications & Key Requirements

  • Working knowledge of fundamentals and compliance in the industry, OSHA, DOT, EEOC, EPA, state Employment Laws, and department-level reports - Required
  • Proficiency operating internal / external software systems - Required
  • Intermediate verbal / written communication skills - Required
  • Influencing skills - Required
  • Analytical skills - Required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks; attention to detail - Required
  • Experience giving presentations - Preferred

Education

  • A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience - Required

Licenses/Certifications

  • Successful completion of required H-E-B training and classes - Required

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Work flexible and extended hours / shifts (including 10 - 12 hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Navigate through all assigned work areas
