Fleet Services Mechanic

BAMCo is seeking a skilled and experienced senior-level Fleet Services Mechanic to perform trailer repairs, including welding, structural work, and advanced mechanical services. This role values craftsmanship, efficiency, and mentorship, and includes guiding and training mechanic apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of mechanical and structural trailer repairs, including welding and fabrication
• Troubleshoot and repair air systems, lighting, suspensions, and structural components
• Complete work both in-shop and on field service calls as needed
• Utilize BAMCo’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage work orders, parts usage, and documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace and service vehicle
• Mentor and assist mechanic apprentices with techniques, safety procedures, and best practices
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, team leads, and customers

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications a plus
• Minimum 5 years of experience in trailer or heavy-duty vehicle repair
• CDL Driver’s license (Class A or B) preferred but not required
• Proficient in welding (steel and aluminum) and fabrication
• Experience with preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and DOT compliance
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Comfortable using digital tools and CMMS software
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
• Drug and alcohol free, with a commitment to safety and professionalism
• Positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
