Fleet Reefer Technician
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, Reefer Microprocessors, etc.).
- Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards.
- Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.
- Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.
- Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
- Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
Supervision
N/A
Relationships
- Internal: All Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators and Manager.
- External: Dealer Service Managers.
Work Environment
Onsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
- TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.
- Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs.
- Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Furnish own personal hand tools.
- Able to read and understand technical and online service manuals.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA & DOT regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
- Computer and software experience.
- Noregon Diag Equip/A/C Recovery, Etc.
- Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment.
- Welding ability.
- Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification.

Compensation
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $36.00-$40.00 per hour. This role will also receive overtime compensation.
