Fleet Readiness Coordinator

The Fleet Readiness Coordinator is responsible for maintaining fleet-level visibility, readiness forecasting, and cross-functional coordination to ensure aircraft are available to meet operational and contractual requirements. This role serves as a central point of coordination between Air Operations, MRO Planning, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Reliability, and Flight Data Management to identify readiness risks, drive recovery plans, and support timely aircraft return to service.
Responsibilities
- Fleet Readiness Management:
- Maintain daily visibility of all aircraft status, including available, in scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, on ground, and under modification.
- Lead daily fleet readiness reviews, ensuring stakeholder alignment on status, priorities, and recovery actions.
- Establish and maintain a single source of truth for fleet status, ensuring current, accurate, and accessible information.
- Manage and track remote WHS fill rates, WPPs, and spares availability.
- Track logistics metrics related to AOGs and readiness rates.
- Escalate readiness risks, constraints, and recovery plans to leadership.
- Readiness Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain 90-, 120-, and 180-day fleet readiness forecasts.
- Forecast aircraft availability against contractual requirements, operational commitments, maintenance, and resource constraints.
- Identify readiness gaps and coordinate mitigation actions.
- Support fleet allocation, deployment planning, and readiness decision-making.
- Engine and Component Management:
- Oversee fleet-level engines and critical components (transmissions, rotor heads, blades, avionics, life-limited parts, etc.).
- Maintain master schedules for components to support maintenance and readiness.
- Monitor component availability, removals, overhauls, repairs, and return-to-service dates.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance, and vendors to mitigate shortages and delays.
- Show Stopper Management:
- Maintain and drive closure of readiness show stoppers affecting aircraft availability or return-to-service.
- Lead weekly cross-functional meetings on AOG drivers, overdue maintenance, parts shortages, vendor delays, and resource constraints.
- Ensure show stoppers have clear owners, recovery plans, and completion dates.
- Track progress and escalate blocked actions to leadership.
- Schedule Adherence:
- Monitor execution against maintenance plans, component schedules, and return-to-service dates.
- Measure adherence and identify deviations affecting availability or commitments.
- Drive corrective actions and ensure recovery plans are visible and actionable.
- Provide updates on schedule risks, missed commitments, and recovery progress.
- Track maintenance man-hours for scheduled and unscheduled events.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in aviation maintenance, fleet readiness, maintenance planning, operations coordination, supply chain coordination, or related aviation support.
- Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance status, return-to-service planning, component tracking, and operational readiness drivers.
- 5+ years of experience supporting field maintenance, MRO operations, aircraft availability management, or fleet deployment planning.
- Ability to coordinate across departments and drive action without direct authority.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and readiness/maintenance/planning systems.
Qualifications
- Preferred experience with rotorcraft, heavy-lift aviation, or complex maintenance environments.
- Preferred experience with life-limited component programs, vendor repair cycles, engineering dispositions, and supply chain constraints.
- Preferred experience preparing operational dashboards, readiness reports, or leadership briefings.
