Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains vehicles, which may include a company’s fleet of trucks, heavy equipment, etc
- Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups
- Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function
- Identifies mechanical problems
- Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist
- Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts
- Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance
- VISITS job sites and other facilities to inspect vehicles
- Has a working knowledge of DOT requirements
- Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- A valid driver's license, CDL B
- Preferred: Availability to work long shifts during the snow season
- A great work ethic and attitude
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Candidate must possess a strong background in brakes, suspension, exhaust and emissions, light fabrication, hydraulics, electrical and diagnostics
- Prior knowledge of skids, loaders, tractors, etc, is a plus.
- ASE/Other Certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
