Fleet Mechanic

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains vehicles, which may include a company’s fleet of trucks, heavy equipment, etc
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups
• Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function
• Identifies mechanical problems
• Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts
• Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance
• VISITS job sites and other facilities to inspect vehicles
• Has a working knowledge of DOT requirements
• Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• A valid driver's license, CDL B
• Preferred: Availability to work long shifts during the snow season
• A great work ethic and attitude
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Candidate must possess a strong background in brakes, suspension, exhaust and emissions, light fabrication, hydraulics, electrical and diagnostics
• Prior knowledge of skids, loaders, tractors, etc, is a plus.
• ASE/Other Certifications are preferred but not mandatory.

• Monday to Friday
• On call during winter months
