Fleet Mechanic
About the role
NETC Fleet Services is looking for an experienced Fleet Mechanic to keep our growing fleet of towing, recovery, and commercial vehicles safe, reliable, and ready to work. We're one of New England's fastest-growing names in towing, recovery, and commercial truck service — and our trucks are the business. When a wrecker is down, a job doesn't get done. That makes the person keeping our fleet running one of the most important people on the team.
We're looking for a mechanic who takes pride in doing things right: someone who works clean, diagnoses problems properly, and wants to fix equipment — not just keep it limping along.
This isn't a shop where you'll spend every day doing the same repair on the same truck. Our fleet includes light-duty tow trucks, heavy wreckers, tractors, trailers, and support vehicles, with both gasoline and diesel equipment. You'll work across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air systems. No two days are the same.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tow trucks, wreckers, tractors, trailers, and support vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air system problems
- Service and repair diesel and gasoline engines
- Handle brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain repairs
- Perform DOT inspections and help keep the fleet safe and compliant
- Respond to breakdowns and make emergency repairs when needed
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and safe
Requirements
- 5+ years of fleet, diesel, or heavy-duty mechanic experience preferred
- Experience with heavy-duty trucks, wreckers, or towing equipment is a strong plus
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills — you find the root cause, not just the symptom
- Working knowledge of DOT requirements and inspections
- Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and manage your workload
- Valid driver's license required
- CDL is a plus
Schedule
Full-time, Monday - Friday, benefit eligible position.
Pay & Benefits
- $25–$42/hour, based on experience and ability
- Overtime available
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Steady work with a growing fleet
- Opportunity to advance as NETC continues to grow
We Want Someone Who Takes Pride in the Fleet
If you can diagnose it, fix it, and stand behind your work, we want to hear from you. Bring your experience to a company where good mechanics matter, your work gets noticed, and the equipment you keep running is critical to everything we do. Apply today and help keep the NETC fleet rolling.
