About the role
Repairs and maintains diesel and gasoline commercial trucks. Must live or relocate to within 45 minutes of the Northeast Philadelphia branch.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair a fleet of light-duty delivery trucks (under 10,000 GVW).
- Read job orders and observe/listen to trucks in operation to diagnose malfunctions and plan work procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and maintain a company-implemented Preventive Maintenance Program for all branch vehicles.
- Install new ignition systems, align front wheels, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks; make adjustments.
- Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired trucks to verify conformance to specifications.
- Maintain parts inventory and ensure all work orders are completed and entered for repair work.
- Work with the Fleet Manager on issues related to trucks, personnel, inventory, budget, and other concerns.
- Review and be responsible for budgets on all branch vehicles with the Branch Manager.
- Coordinate with Route Sales People regarding repairs performed and note any deficiencies.
- Coordinate outside work with all subcontractors used.
Requirements
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or at least five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional years of experience are a plus.
- Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of total engine repair and replacement, running gear and suspension, electrical, and welding on all company-owned vehicles.
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English.
- Must possess a stable work history with good references.

- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Vision corrected to 20/30 or better.
Pay
Starting at $30.69 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, approximately 40–45 hours per week.
