Join Colonial Transportation Solutions, Inc. as a Fleet Mechanic and be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on semi trucks and trailers, making certain they meet the highest standards of safety and performance. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and complex repairs on semi-trucks and trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Ensure all vehicles comply with federal and state safety regulations, including requirements related to the transportation of hazardous materials in fuel tanker trailers.
  • Maintain detailed repair orders documenting maintenance performed, parts used, and labor hours.
  • Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to achieve team goals and share knowledge and expertise.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in truck and trailer maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification or formal training in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a semi-truck and trailer mechanic required.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and fuel systems.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred but not required.

  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Travel to other terminals is required and estimated at 50%.
