Fleet Mechanic

About the role

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring an Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join their team in San Mateo, CA. The ideal candidate will enjoy troubleshooting mechanical issues and keeping fleet vehicles running reliably.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on light to medium duty fleet vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations

Requirements

• 5+ years’ of hands-on experience performing automotive vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)
• The ability to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces
• The ability to safely perform duties in various weather conditions
• The ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace

Skills

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

Pay & Schedule

• Pay $30.00 - $37.50 /hour (based on experience)
• Pay Frequency - Weekly pay - every Friday
• Schedule - Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm
