FLEET MANAGER

Gibson Electric Membership Corporation is seeking a Fleet Manager for our Trenton Member Service Center.

About the role

Manages purchasing, maintenance, utilization, compliance, and lifecycle management of the utilities' fleet assets, including bucket trucks, digger derricks, service vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, specialized equipment, generators, and air compressors. Ensures fleet reliability, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and cost control to support efficient and safe electric and broadband operations. Oversees and assists with complex mechanical repairs as needed to keep equipment and vehicles safe and operational.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Vocational or technical certificate in mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical
• Valid Tennessee Class A Commercial driver’s license
• Five years of experience as a mechanic (including major overhauls and hydraulics repairs)
• Knowledge of OSHA and TOSHA Rules and Regulations, DOT Regulations
• Ability to effectively and courteously communicate in person, by radio, and by telephone
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate in writing

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience as a mechanic (including major overhauls and hydraulics repairs) for an electric utility
