Fleet Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and talented Fleet Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. The role involves traveling with maintenance-related supplies to dispersed equipment and performing on-site maintenance activities.

Mechanic Responsibilities

  • Communicate within the organization to coordinate and schedule Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities efficiently
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
  • Operate and inspect machines or vehicles to diagnose defects or functionality problems and alert clients on issues preventing vehicle inspections
  • Assemble mechanical components according to specifications
  • Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks
  • Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records, in written or electronic form
  • Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary
  • Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users
  • Operate individually and within a team environment
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures; perform daily equipment inspections, and identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions

Mechanic Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance scheduling
  • Preferred certification from a vocational school or trade school
  • A minimum of 2 years of journeyman level mechanic experience
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems
  • Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending, lifting up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
  • Valid drivers' license required
  • Must pass a background and/or Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Pre-Screen

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
