Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and talented Fleet Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. The role involves traveling with maintenance-related supplies to dispersed equipment and performing on-site maintenance activities on all machinery and vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Communicate within our organization to coordinate and schedule PM activities in an efficient manner
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
- Operate and inspect machines or vehicles to diagnose defects or functionality problems. Alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspection
- Assemble mechanical components according to specifications
- Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks
- Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records, in written or electronic form
- Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary
- Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users
- Operate individually and within a team environment
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures; perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance scheduling
- Certification from a vocational school or trade school is preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of journeyman level mechanic experience required
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems
- Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
- Valid drivers' license required
- Must pass a background and/or Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Other Potential Qualifications
- Automotive Service Excellence Mechanics Certification (A.S.E Certification)
- Experience working on and/or repairing Hydraulic systems on fleet vehicles
- Certification for Aerial Device Maintenance
