Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

Supervises preventive and corrective maintenance repairs on Shamrock Fleet vehicles, including tractors, trucks, refrigerated trailers, and other Fleet vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment; report safety concerns or unsafe tool conditions to the Fleet Manager.
• Manage, prioritize, and assign tasks for multiple service providers, working closely with Transportation & Fleet management to minimize equipment downtime (in conjunction with the Fleet Maintenance Manager).
• Perform quality control reviews and spot checks of work performed, noting areas of opportunity or improvement.
• Coordinate and approve maintenance of all equipment, including tractors and trailers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, DOT regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain and control parts and tire inventories to increase mechanic efficiencies and limit potential downtime.
• Review and approve vendor invoices.
• Respond to emergencies and time-sensitive after-hours service needs.
• Perform mobile fleet repairs as needed, either on Shamrock property or during emergency roadside repairs, using a Fleet Mobile repair vehicle.
• Communicate with all divisions regarding repair status and with the Fleet Maintenance Manager on personnel, tooling, safety, facility maintenance, training, and other relevant items.
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose repairs for heavy-duty tractors, trucks, and trailers.
• Drive tractors/trailers and trucks for test drives or to return vehicles to Shamrock facilities.
• Participate in meetings and training programs as directed by the Fleet Maintenance Manager.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, laws, and guidelines for Fleet Maintenance & Fuel Facility.
• Proactively identify maintenance gaps.
• Be flexible to meet operational demands, including overnights, weekends, holidays, and travel.
• Oversee daily preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling and tracking to ensure timely, high-quality, and compliant inspections.
• Communicate equipment availability with dispatch and other operations personnel.
• Monitor and approve all off-site repairs for timeliness.
• Monitor Fleet CSA scores (Maintenance Basic) and incoming RSIs.
• Inspect all breakdown repairs.
• Manage inventory: charge parts and tires, ensure proper levels, pricing, and accuracy.
• Review and approve billing invoices (e.g., tires, Penske, wash).
• Collect, organize, and file fuel receipts.
• Update XRS as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years in a heavy-duty truck repair environment; degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record for the past 39 months.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
