About the role

As a Fleet Maintenance Fueler Washer at Penske, you’ll ensure vehicles are fueled, clean, and safe before they hit the road. You’ll greet customers, perform vehicle readiness inspections, and contribute to a clean, safe facility. This role offers hands-on training and a pathway to advance into a technician position, all while working with leading-edge technology in a stable, growth-oriented company.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and ensure a positive experience while fueling and washing vehicles
  • Perform vehicle readiness inspections, checking tires, fluids, and basic maintenance items
  • Maintain clean and safe facilities for customers and associates
  • Build skills through training and hands-on coaching to perform minor repairs, such as installing mounted tires, replacing or rotating tires, and preventive maintenance
  • Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by a supervisor

Requirements

  • High school diploma, equivalent, or prior work experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Willingness to work outside
  • Basic mechanical ability and tool usage (preferred)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, and regulations set by Penske management
  • Adhere to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including proper use of tools, PPE, and safety practices
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential
  • Ability to pass a DOT-regulated background check, including MVR, DOT physical, drug screen, and safety performance history review (CDL holders subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse review)
  • Willingness to work the required schedule, complete employment application, submit to background screening, and pass a drug screen
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, accepting responsibility for personal and others’ safety

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
  • Routine and daily use of hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, or operate tools/controls
  • Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
  • Ability to see and hear to safely navigate the work environment with large trucks moving through
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg)
  • Ability to push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 pounds on a regular basis
