About the role

As a Fleet Maintenance Fueler Washer at Penske, you’ll make sure vehicles are fueled, clean, and safe before they hit the road again. You will be the face of Penske—the person greeting our customers when they arrive and the one sending them off with a smile.

This role is perfect if you’ve always had an interest in vehicle maintenance but haven’t had the chance to pursue it. No experience is required. We will introduce you to our vehicle maintenance processes and teach you how to use our leading-edge technology. Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and ensure they have a great experience while fueling and washing vehicles
  • Perform vehicle readiness inspections to check tires, fluids, and other basic maintenance items
  • Help maintain clean, safe facilities for customers and associates
  • Build skills through training and hands-on coaching to perform minor repairs, such as installing mounted tires, replacing or rotating tires, and performing preventive maintenance repairs
  • Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • High school diploma, equivalent, or prior work experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Willingness and ability to work outside
  • Basic mechanical ability and tool usage (preferred)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management
  • Ability to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies, including correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to work the required schedule and at the specified location
  • Ability to pass a background screening (including criminal checks, past employment, and education), drug screen, and physical as required by the Department of Transportation
  • Potential travel within a near geography for training

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
  • Routine and daily use of hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, or operate tools and controls
  • Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and elevated working platforms
  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
  • Ability to see and hear to safely navigate the work environment, especially with large trucks moving through the workplace
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
  • Ability to push/pull truck tires on a regular basis that exceed 100 pounds
