About the role

The Equipment Specialist will support daily operations for the equipment procurement, inventory management, and record keeping. Equipment includes geotechnical drill rigs, trailers, skid steers, commercial motor vehicles, and more. The role involves maximizing equipment utilization and performing duties to comply with established procedures and company policies. Exceptional customer service to internal customers is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the processing of purchase orders (PO’s) and invoices, coordinating with the corporate accounting department.
  • Update and maintain fleet systems.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on commercial motor vehicle fleets and DOT requirements, specifically ¾ ton trucks to class 8 semi-trucks.
  • Develop and issue equipment reports as needed.
  • Assist in implementing and training for maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Enforce compliance with fleet policies and procedures.
  • Track and maintain records, licenses, inspections, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's equipment.
  • Interact with regional management at all levels on all aspects of fleet support operations.
  • Manage performance on key cost factors including safety, asset usage, fuel compliance, preventative maintenance, projects, and vendor usage.
  • Coordinate equipment rentals, transfers, leases, and communicate with vendors.
  • Assist with company equipment remarketing.
  • Interact with suppliers and vendors for fleet products and services.
  • Understand and negotiate service level agreements.
  • Plan and schedule logistics for equipment deliveries.
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
  • Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Ensure quality standards on all projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or a minimum of 9 years of related experience.
  • Basic understanding of various vehicle classes.
  • Ability to produce concise, accurate reports and work comfortably with MS-Office tools like Excel Spreadsheets.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history may be required.
