Fleet & Equipment Mechanic

About the role

Wolfe House Movers is seeking an experienced, hands-on mechanic to join our team at our Bernville, PA facility. Established for over 40 years, Wolfe House Movers specializes in relocating historic homes, large commercial structures, and heavy buildings. Our fleet includes specialized trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment, and maintaining these assets is crucial to our operations.

Responsibilities

• Work on truck and trailer maintenance and repair
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and related components
• Diagnose and repair brake systems, suspension, and electrical issues
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
• Weld and fabricate (optional)
• Ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for jobs

Requirements

• 3+ years of mechanical experience working on trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, or similar machinery
• Prior experience with trailer maintenance and repair (brakes, suspension, electrical, air systems) preferred
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs independently
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems or heavy equipment (preferred)
• Basic welding or fabrication skills (plus)
• Able to work safely and maintain an organized shop environment
• Own basic mechanic tools
• Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)
• Able to lift 50+ lbs. and work in a hands-on shop environment

Nice-to-have Qualifications

• Diesel engine experience
• CDL license
• Experience with heavy haul trailers or specialty equipment
• Must have hydraulic troubleshooting skills
