Fleet Diesel Mechanic (3rd Shift) | Up to $40/hr + Full Benefits

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and annual inspections
• Troubleshoot Cummins, Mack and Detroit Diesel engines
• Diagnose and repair electrical, air brake, steering, suspension, drivetrain, HVAC and hydraulic systems
• Diagnose and repair ECMs, TCMs and ACMs
• Perform transmission, differential and suspension repairs based on skill level
• Utilize fleet maintenance software to review vehicle history, document repairs and complete work orders
• Respond to service calls and equipment breakdowns as needed
• Fabricate and weld components when required
• Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment
• Communicate with drivers and operators to improve equipment reliability
• Support and mentor less experienced mechanics as appropriate

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with heavy-duty trucks, fleet vehicles or heavy equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes and emissions systems
• CDL Class B with air brakes preferred, or ability to obtain Michigan Heavy Duty certifications
• ASE certifications a plus

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
• Ability to pass physical and pre-employment and random drug screens (including marijuana)
