About the role

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive (FSCA) is a leading provider of on-site mobile maintenance and repair services for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. FSCA also offers services at 20+ nationwide service centers, including accident repair, painting, refurbishment, and heavy mechanical repair.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspect vehicles for mechanical deficiencies.
  • Perform light and major repairs, advanced vehicle diagnostics, and interact with customers with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • May maintain/repair equipment like cable trailers and laptop docking stations.
  • Keep shop area clean and tidy, adhere to safety standards, dispose of fluids safely, and perform scheduled maintenance and unscheduled services.
  • Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records, and up-fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
  • Conduct more complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, design, and fabrication.
  • Interface and coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs, perform roadside assistance as needed, and engage in equipment design and moderate fabrication tasks including welding.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace general automotive parts and accessories, and conduct a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs, including brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, state safety and emissions testing, maintenance services, HVAC, major engine, and hydraulics.
  • Work on multiple applications from Light-Duty to Class A-Heavy Trucks, Mechanical Equipment, Passenger Vehicles, and more.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field, or a different combination of education and experience (any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years’ experience; or 7 years’ experience in a related field).
  • Master Level ASE certification preferred.
  • Continued training to maintain current A.S.E. status and adapt to technological and fleet changes.
  • Valid driver’s license required; must hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Regularly stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
  • Close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Transmission and diesel experience preferred.
  • Extensive training and certification accompanied with 5-10 years of hands-on diesel repair experience.
  • Working knowledge of DOT and CDL requirements for medium and heavy truck applications.
  • Ability to obtain Class A or B Operator’s License if required.
  • A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.

Benefits

This position offers a $2,500 New Hire Bonus, paid out 50% after 30 days and 50% after 180 days.
