Position Summary
The Flatbed Dump Truck & Water Truck Driver safely operates company vehicles to transport construction materials, equipment, and water to and from jobsites. This role is essential to keeping crews productive by ensuring materials are delivered safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and equipment care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely operate a flatbed dump truck and water truck in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport construction materials, aggregates, pipe, equipment, and other jobsite supplies.
- Operate the water truck for dust suppression, soil moisture conditioning, and grading operations.
- Secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and other approved load securement methods.
- Complete driver logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, foremen, project managers, and field personnel.
- Report maintenance needs or equipment concerns promptly.
- Follow all company safety policies and traffic regulations.
- Aid construction crews with light labor duties when driving responsibilities permit.
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with coworkers, customers, inspectors, and the public.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Tanker Endorsement required.
- Previous experience operating flatbed dump trucks, water trucks, or similar commercial construction vehicles preferred.
- Knowledge of proper load securement and safe material transportation practices.
- Ability to safely maneuver equipment in active construction environments.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb into and out of commercial vehicles multiple times throughout the day.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and climb as needed.
- Work safely around heavy equipment and active construction traffic.
- Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as project schedules require.
