Essential Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain automatic flatbed die-cutting equipment.
- Perform machine setups, changeovers, make-ready procedures, routine adjustments, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient production.
- Read and interpret job tickets, structural drawings, layouts, and production specifications to ensure accurate setup and production.
- Inspect finished products to verify they meet customer specifications and MGD quality standards.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance and promptly report mechanical issues to management.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and maintenance records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members across all departments to maximize production efficiency and meet customer deadlines.
- Comply with all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance to support production schedules.
- Follow all company policies, work instructions, quality standards, safety procedures, and environmental guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience operating automatic flatbed die-cutting equipment or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience operating Young Shin flatbed die-cutting equipment is preferred.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets, structural drawings, layouts, and production specifications.
- Working knowledge of preventive machine maintenance and safe operating procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to perform minor die repairs and adjustments, including replacing creasing rules and cutting knives.
- Ability to recognize and correct common die-cutting defects, including: Cracking, Heavy scores, Registration/alignment issues, Tearing.
- Experience using a pre-make-ready table.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment, including rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, including standing and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the POP display, packaging, or commercial printing industry.
- Experience operating Young Shin, Bobst, Iberica, or similar automatic flatbed die-cutting equipment.
- Knowledge of paperboard, corrugated materials, and display manufacturing.
- Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.
