Flagger

About the role

Joining Centuri, you will be part of a team that leads the way in utility and energy infrastructure across North America. As a Flagger, you will direct traffic through construction zones using handheld signs, traffic barricades, and cones to ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and construction workers.

Responsibilities

• Place signs, barricades, and traffic cones
• Follow all safety precautions to protect motorists and construction workers
• Clock in and out weekly
• Load and unload equipment and materials
• Coordinate traffic signals with construction crews and other flaggers
• Participate in paid, on-the-job training for technical skills

Requirements

• General knowledge of construction-related equipment
• Ability to work safely in close proximity to active roads
• Commitment to doing quality work while prioritizing safety

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Pass pre-employment drug screen
• Valid US work authorization
• Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
• Union membership required

Schedule

Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice

Work Environment

• Outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
• All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
• Prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
• Work within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
• Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Legal Stuff

• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
• Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
• Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
