About This Position

Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the country, serving as Arizona's center of government, commerce, and culture. It is emerging in the new economy with strength in high technology, manufacturing, bioscience research, and advanced business services. The Public Transit Department has a vacancy for a Fixed-Route Services Contract Monitor position.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct bus ride reviews
  • Perform facility and vehicle inspections
  • Complete preventive maintenance documentation audits
  • Review drug and alcohol program documentation
  • Maintain contractor operational performance
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints
  • Provide additional transit related facility support services as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge of transit operations and the Public Transit Industry
  • Knowledge of FTA rules and regulations relevant to Public Transit
  • Ability to investigate and respond to customer service complaints
  • Ability to specify corrective methods to resolve compliance problems both orally and in writing
  • Ability to interpret and analyze facilities related contracts, and effectively interact with contractors, customers, and management

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience working with governmental contracts
  • Experience assisting a contracts administrator in contract preparation
  • Experience utilizing the clever device system
  • Experience conducting public transit fleet inspections
  • Experience with direct contract monitoring and compliance
  • Experience coordinating with multiple contractors and vendors
  • Experience investigating and responding to customer complaints
  • Experience developing, interpreting, analyzing reports, and contracts
  • Experience in the preparation of the transit system performance and deficiency documents
  • Experience monitoring and observing, data collection, and analysis of transit field operations
  • Experience with using computer applications, including spreadsheets and word processing applications

Pay

Pay Range: $24.34 to $41.63 per hour.
Hiring Range: $24.34 to $29.58 per hour.

Schedule

The position is fully on site and is not eligible for telework. The selected candidate will work a standard, on-site weekly schedule and must be able to report to all three of our transit facilities as needed: West Facility: 405 N. 79th Avenue; South Facility: 2225 W. Lower Buckeye Road; North Facility: 2010 W. Desert Cove Road.
