About the role

The Casual Fixed Plant Operator will provide cover for employee absences and additional work during shutdown periods. Shifts will vary from 9 hours to 12 hours per shift on dayshift or nightshift.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plant associated with the Coal Handling Processing Plant, Aerial Ropeway and site infrastructure.
• Work in a team responsible for plant operation and maintenance.
• Have a flexible approach and enjoy working in small teams.

Requirements

• New Zealand working rights.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
• Excellent verbal, written and digital communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing situations.

Qualifications

• Secondary education.
• Moderate to high level of fitness.
• Interest in operating, fixing and maintaining plant and equipment.
• Basic level of understanding of computers.

Skills

• Mechanically minded.
