- Starting at $45.04/hour
- Overtime available and paid in accordance with Alaska overtime rules
- Quarterly bonus of 0–20% on all earnings, historically averaging approximately 16%
- $25,000–$30,000 lump-sum relocation allowance

About the role
Our client is an established precious metals mining company with operating assets across North America. This position will play a key role in supporting the reliability and availability of fixed plant and processing equipment by developing effective maintenance plans, coordinating labour and materials, preparing job packages, and ensuring planned maintenance activities can be executed safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance supervisors, tradespeople, operations, reliability personnel, warehouse teams, and other site stakeholders to ensure maintenance work is properly scoped, scheduled, resourced, and documented.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed maintenance plans for preventative, corrective, and planned maintenance activities across fixed plant equipment
- Build complete job packages that clearly outline labour requirements, materials, tools, equipment, safety requirements, and expected work scope
- Review incoming maintenance work requests and ensure jobs are properly scoped before being scheduled for execution
- Work closely with maintenance supervisors and tradespeople to understand equipment issues and determine appropriate maintenance requirements
- Coordinate maintenance priorities with operations to minimize equipment downtime and production disruption
- Plan maintenance activities across crushers, conveyors, pumps, mills, piping systems, processing equipment, and other fixed plant assets
- Identify labour, parts, tools, specialized equipment, contractor support, and other resources required to complete planned work
- Ensure required parts and materials are identified, ordered, staged, and available before maintenance activities begin
- Work closely with warehouse and procurement teams to support parts availability and maintenance execution
- Maintain accurate equipment information, maintenance histories, work orders, and planning documentation
- Support the development and optimization of preventative maintenance programs
- Review equipment history and maintenance information to identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve equipment reliability
- Assist with backlog management and prioritize maintenance work based on operational risk, equipment condition, and production requirements
- Coordinate with maintenance scheduling personnel to ensure planned work is ready for execution
- Support major maintenance activities, shutdowns, equipment rebuilds, and other planned maintenance events
- Participate in shutdown planning and ensure labour, materials, tools, and work packages are prepared in advance
- Monitor planned versus actual maintenance performance and identify opportunities to improve future job plans
- Update job plans based on feedback from completed maintenance work
- Develop and maintain standardized maintenance procedures and planning documentation
- Support maintenance cost tracking, estimates, equipment history, and work order closeout
- Ensure maintenance plans incorporate appropriate safety requirements, permits, isolations, and job hazard considerations
- Work collaboratively with maintenance, operations, reliability, engineering, procurement, and warehouse teams
- Communicate maintenance priorities, job requirements, and potential execution concerns to appropriate stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintenance effectiveness, equipment availability, reliability, and cost performance
- Help ensure maintenance resources are used effectively to support safe and reliable production
Requirements
- Strong maintenance background within mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or another equipment-intensive environment
- Previous experience in maintenance planning, fixed plant maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of fixed plant equipment and maintenance requirements
- Experience working with industrial equipment such as crushers, conveyors, pumps, mills, piping systems, motors, gearboxes, and processing equipment is strongly preferred
- Hands-on mechanical or trades experience is considered a strong asset
- Ability to effectively scope maintenance work and determine labour, parts, materials, tools, and equipment requirements
- Experience developing detailed maintenance job plans and work packages
- Understanding of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices
- Experience coordinating parts, materials, and maintenance resources
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling principles
- Experience supporting shutdowns, major maintenance activities, or equipment rebuilds is considered an asset
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, maintenance records, and other technical documentation
- Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems and maintenance work orders
- Strong computer skills and the ability to work effectively with maintenance planning and reporting systems
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple maintenance priorities while meeting demanding operational timelines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with tradespeople, supervisors, operations personnel, engineers, and other stakeholders
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmentally responsible maintenance practices
- Ability to work effectively in an active mine and processing environment
- Willingness and ability to relocate to Juneau, Alaska
Work Environment
- On-site position based in Juneau, Alaska
- Work within an active mining and mineral processing environment
- Regular interaction with fixed plant maintenance, processing operations, warehouse, planning, and technical teams
- Combination of office-based maintenance planning and field interaction with equipment and maintenance personnel
- Exposure to industrial equipment, active processing facilities, varying temperatures, noise, dust, and other conditions associated with mining operations
- Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn when entering operational and maintenance areas
- Overtime opportunities may be available based on operational and maintenance requirements
