The Fixed Income FIG Sales Director is responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic client relationships, leading complex fixed income transactions, and overseeing regional sales initiatives. Directors serve as trusted advisors to institutional clients, leveraging deep market expertise to deliver innovative solutions and actionable insights. This position requires exceptional leadership, advanced sales acumen, and the ability to mentor high-performing teams while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key institutional clients, serving as a primary advisor on fixed income strategies.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share and achieve revenue goals.
- Deliver tailored market updates, trade ideas, and strategic recommendations to senior-level decision-makers.
- Lead regional sales initiatives and campaigns to drive profitability and client engagement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set annual objectives and monitor progress toward performance targets.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, and client forums to enhance brand visibility.
- Apply advanced knowledge of economics, fixed income markets, and capital markets to inform client strategies.
- Provide market feedback to traders and underwriters to optimize product offerings and pricing strategies.
- Stay current on new products, industry trends, and regulatory developments impacting institutional sales.
- Oversee the structuring and execution of complex fixed income transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain CRM systems (e.g., IRIS, FI Client Portal) for client data integrity and sales reporting.
- Develop strong working relationships with back-office teams to ensure seamless operational support.
- Provide timely, candid, and constructive feedback to team members.
- Mentor Associates and Analysts, fostering technical development and career growth.
- Build a strong talent pipeline to ensure bench strength and succession planning.
- Recognize and reward employees for outstanding performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in institutional sales, fixed income, or capital markets.
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 63 licenses required; Series 24 strongly preferred for supervisory responsibilities.
- Proven track record of leading complex transactions and managing senior-level client relationships.
Skills
- Professional proficiency, generally acquired through 10 years of relevant work or internship experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities.
- Advanced understanding of fixed income markets, products, and transaction structures.
- Strong business development and strategic advisory skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level client interactions.
- High level of integrity and commitment to regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; advanced familiarity with Bloomberg and CRM systems.

Pay
Compensation for this position is largely incentive-based. Incentive compensation is combined with either a base salary or a draw to determine total cash compensation, and incentive compensation is based upon company, line of business, and/or individual performance.
