Fitter/Welder - 2nd Shift

Reports to: Production Supervisor. Cooperates with: Welding, Fabrication, and Shipping teams.

About the Role

MIRATECH, a global leader in emission and silencing solutions, is seeking 2nd shift welders and fitters in Houston, TX. This position involves 20% welding and 80% fitting.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding based on product needs, including round and rectangular elements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams.
• Apply knowledge of quality control (QC) and product specifications.
• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.
• Follow welding safety procedures and use provided PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Certification in welding from a recognized technical institute or trade school is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience using welding equipment and related tools effectively and safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Experience with electrical or manual tools (grinders, saws, squares, calipers, etc.).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with a team lift.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with a team lift.
• Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods of time.

You'll Stand Out If You Have

• Welding certification.
• Ability to interpret blueprints.
• Prior work experience as a MIG welder.

Pay

Hourly pay for experienced pipe welders/fitters will be based on experience. Competitive starting pay for entry-level candidates who pass the welding test. $2.00 shift differential.

Schedule

2nd Shift, Monday - Thursday, 3:00 pm to 1:30 am.
