Fitter/Structural MIG Welder- 1st Shift

About the role

Miller Industries is seeking a Fitter/Structural MIG Welder for their 1st Shift in Fenton, MI. The position is available for two openings.

Responsibilities

• Reading engineered drawings, cutting, welding, and assembling materials for custom products.
• Handling, cutting, welding, and assembling materials (steel, stainless, aluminum).
• Ensuring all products are fabricated, welded, and installed according to engineered drawings.
• Welding components in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
• Recognizing, setting up, and operating hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
• Aiding in the layout, positioning, alignment, and securing of parts and assemblies.
• Assisting with customer order fulfillment on time.

Requirements

• 5+ years of fabrication and welding experience (MIG, TIG, and Arc).
• Welding certifications are a plus.
• Ability to read cut lists and engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical abilities and tool proficiency (saws, drills, grinders, etc.).
• Clear communication skills.
• Professional and clean workspace maintenance.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to safety culture.
• Team player with ability to work independently.

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Physical strength and endurance to perform duties in extreme environments.
• Ability to handle stressors of the position.
• Frequent lifting and moving of 10-50 pounds.
• Standing, sitting, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, and operating objects, tools, and controls.

Pay

The position pays a competitive rate per hour based on experience and expertise. A comprehensive benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD, STD, a 401k with immediate match, 10 paid holidays, PTO, profit sharing bonus eligibility, and overtime opportunities.

Schedule

The hours are 6 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, with overtime as required for production on weekends.
