Fitter - 1st Shift
About the role
This is a hands-on structural fitting role. You'll spend most of your time laying out, aligning, clamping, and tacking large steel components to blueprint tolerance — before the piece ever goes to final weld. Fit-up accuracy is the job. Squareness, dimension, and alignment will not be secondary details — they're what you're accountable for every day.

- Verify dimensions, squareness, and fit-up using precision measuring tools
- Tack weld to hold components in place for final welding
- Set up material and components for efficient welder handoff
- Identify and flag fit-up or material issues before they reach final weld
- Handle complex, large-scale weldment fit-up with minimal oversight
- Be trusted to catch and correct fit-up issues before they reach final weld
- Demonstrate consistent accuracy and reliability across varied assemblies
