About the Role
A Work-Fit Fitness Specialist supports current Work-Fit customers by collaborating on the planning, organizing, communicating, developing, delivering, and measuring of Work-Fit services. This role contributes to advancing Work-Fit’s quality and compliance to support service growth and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Health & Fitness Delivery
- Oversee employee usage of fitness facilities, including membership operations, badging, and security access management.
- Provide a supportive and motivating environment for employees, establishing and maintaining relationships.
- Orient participants to the facility, rules, guidelines, and equipment usage.
- Ensure the health, safety, and comfort of participants during facility usage.
- Deliver onsite, employee-facing orientations, program designs, 1:1 services, health guidance, and program referrals.
- Be available for participant questions, concerns, and suggestions.
- Enforce rules on equipment usage etiquette, safety, and hygiene.
- Evaluate market trends and employee feedback to expand physical activity programs through tournaments, challenges, engagements, events, and workout programs.
- Oversee group exercise instruction, monitor instructor preparation, and facilitate instructor success (e.g., room scheduling, equipment availability).
- Audit classes to verify exercise appropriateness and participant safety; invite participant feedback.
- Communicate class availability, schedules, and changes.
- Contribute to group exercise instruction (e.g., Cycle, Yoga, Core, Bootcamp, Zumba, Strength, Pilates, Stretching).
- Maintain appropriate certifications (group fitness, coaching, personal training, AED/CPR/First Aid).
- Maintain equipment and inventory, perform regular equipment checks, and ensure equipment is in good working order.
- Initiate and follow through on facility tickets and requests (e.g., leaks, electrical, outages, A/V, damages).
- Schedule equipment maintenance and escort suppliers within the facility.
- Report equipment maintenance and replacement needs to the Client Program Manager.
- Complete annual capital inventory and submit as instructed.
- Collaborate with site services, facilities, housekeeping, and janitorial teams to monitor facility maintenance and safety.
- Perform regular facility walk-throughs to identify and mitigate hazards; report issues to the Client Program Manager.
- Manage supplies inventory and ordering.
- Prepare for emergencies by performing first-aid kit and AED checks, conducting emergency drills, and verifying emergency instructions are posted.
- Well-Being Delivery
- Provide ad-hoc well-being support as determined by the Program Manager and site well-being staff.
- Policy and Procedures
- Maintain a safe, secure, and professional work environment by communicating and enforcing policies, procedures, and the Work-Fit Employee Code of Conduct.
- Collaborate with site leadership to understand, teach, and enforce Work-Fit and client organization policies and procedures.
- Maintain and understand the Work-Fit and client Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Manual(s).
- Collaborate to advance SOP practices for continued quality and professional compliance.
- Business Planning
- Assist the Team Leader and/or Regional Lead with establishing strategic goals that align Work-Fit services and resources with customer needs.
- Identify and evaluate trends to create a unified vision for delivering Work-Fit services.
- Complete assignments from the Team Leader and/or Regional Lead to meet program strategic goals.
- Program Measurement
- Ensure all Work-Fit service interactions are documented in the Work-Fit and client record management databases in accordance with policies.
- Conduct quality reviews of record management practices and implement action plans for continuous improvement.
- Assist in the development and review of Work-Fit scorecards within agreed-upon guidelines with client leadership.
- Professional Development
- Remain current with policies, credentialing, and laws governing professional practice.
- Advance professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, certifications, virtual courses, professional publications, networking, and benchmarking.
- Delivery of Work-Fit Services
- Make health personal through the delivery of the agreed-upon Scope of Services in accordance with the SOP.
- Assist in establishing best practice sharing and implementation throughout Work-Fit.
- Customer Relations
- Integrate with the customer and participate in client meetings and committees as delegated by the Team Leader and/or Regional Lead.
- Program Marketing
- Assist in developing a marketing plan for the integration and advancement of Work-Fit services.
- Develop and deliver marketing materials and presentations.
- Create a culture of proactivity and personal health responsibility through educational materials using client resources.
- Facility/Office Management
- Ensure the security of sensitive records (hard copy and computerized).
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area and safe, clean spaces for service delivery.
- Maintain office equipment in safe working order.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Work-Fit/customer-specified health field such as Exercise Physiology, Fitness, or Health/Wellness from an accredited college or university.
- Maintain CPR/AED certification.
- 3 years of professional experience in a specified health field.
- Effective written and oral communication skills for individual and group settings.
- Ability to manage time to meet daily and weekly responsibilities.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online research.
- Proficient with electronic recordkeeping and client databases (as applicable).
- Comfortable delivering services in various environments (manufacturing, warehousing, office, outdoors).
- Maintain a consistent and flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Work-Fit Team and customers.
Pay
Hourly pay range: $31.25–$36.06/hr
