About the role

West Coast Fitness is a leading franchisee of Orangetheory Fitness with 50+ studios across Los Angeles, San Francisco's Bay area, Sacramento, and Ohio. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Leading and motivating members through pre-defined workouts
• Helping members set and achieve goals
• Making sure members are using the correct form and offering corrections if needed
• Understanding the science behind our workouts, specifically heart-rate-focused training programs
• Being a team player
• Availability to coach a minimum of 8 classes/week
• Willingness to immerse yourself in studio culture

Qualifications

• Hold and maintain a current fitness certification from an approved company: ACE, NASM, AFAA, NSCA, ACSM, ISSA
• Current AED/CPR certificate
• 10+ hours per year in continuing education units outside of OTF curriculum
• Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics
• Functional understanding of heart rate-based training
• 2 years of experience as a group or individual personal trainer preferred
• Microsoft Office and Outlook proficiency
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Team player mindset

Physical Requirements

• Regularly use hands to signal, handle, or feel
• Lift and/or move up to 80 pounds occasionally
• On their feet leading and instructing members for the entire workout
• Demonstrate all exercises for members, which can involve various fitness equipment

Pay

On average, $35 - $100/class (standard hourly + class tier pay)
