FIT NYC Adjunct Faculty Pool - Menswear Design, Men's Tailoring

About the role

The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), part of the State University of New York and an internationally renowned college of art, design, business and technology with a strong emphasis on liberal arts, invites nominations and applications for a part-time adjunct faculty position in the Fashion Department of the School of Art and Design.

Responsibilities

• Teach tailoring courses at multiple levels within the Menswear Design AAS Degree Program.
• Instruct students in a comprehensive range of hands-on methods essential for constructing meticulously crafted, fully lined suit jackets.
• Ensure students gain a strong foundation in precision craftsmanship and professional standards.
• Deliver relevant course material, assess student performance, provide guidance and assistance to students both in and out of the classroom, and submit grades on time.

Additional Information

• This is a part-time position, adjunct teaching position beginning in Spring 2026.

Compensation

• $89.98 per hour based on minimum qualifications.
• The final rate, step and appointment rank are determined by a candidate's ability to demonstrate that they meet the respective school's additional criteria for hiring "above the first step," in accordance with the CBA Adjunct Salary Schedules (pp 88-89).
