FIT NYC Adjunct Faculty Pool - Entrepreneurship
FIT, an internationally renowned college of art and design, business, and technology within the State University of New York, seeks part-time adjunct faculty for the Entrepreneurship Department in the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology. The college offers over 45 majors and grants AAS, BFA, BS, MA, MFA, and MPS degrees, preparing students for leadership in the global marketplace.
The Baker School of Business and Technology educates students for management roles in fashion and related creative industries, integrating market awareness, business environments, and advanced technology. The Entrepreneurship for the Fashion and Design Industries Department fosters an optimistic, innovative mindset, preparing students to create sustainable economic and social value and navigate industry challenges.
About the role
The Entrepreneurship department is recruiting adjunct instructors to teach 15-week courses, maintain industry relationships, and contribute to a collaborative, student-centered environment. Ideal candidates will have entrepreneurial or technological experience in areas such as entrepreneurial principles, new ventures, business models, innovation, product development, entrepreneurial finance, emerging technologies, or strategy.
Responsibilities
- Deliver course material, assess student performance, and provide guidance both in and out of the classroom.
- Demonstrate professional capabilities in at least some of the following core competency areas:
- Globalism: Awareness of global issues and their impact on entrepreneurship in the creative industries.
- Instructional Design: Balance theory and practical application, design interdisciplinary coursework, and accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Learning Enrichment: Embrace new pedagogies (online, blended, experiential learning), inspire creativity, and support critical thinking.
- Professionalism: Actively participate in entrepreneurial communities, share industry contacts, and maintain collegial relationships.
- Technology: Effectively use technology to deliver course material, including Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems, and the FIT portal.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field or a closely related field.
- Seven (7) years of professional experience in the field.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Master’s degree in the field or a closely related field.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
Pay
$89.98 per hour based on minimum qualifications. The final rate, step, and appointment rank may be higher based on demonstrated qualifications, as outlined in the UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Schedule
Part-time adjunct teaching position beginning in Spring 2026. Adjunct instructors are expected to teach the required 15-week class schedule.
