FISCAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Location: Administration Annex East Building - Pine Bluff
Anticipated starting salary: $43,088.00
Salary range: $43,088 - $63,770
All positions are designated as Safety Sensitive and subject to random drug testing. Medical marijuana usage is prohibited for personnel in safety-sensitive positions, even with a registry identification card.
About the Role
The Fiscal Support Specialist provides entry-level fiscal support within a department or agency, focusing on routine accounting and fiscal tasks such as data entry, processing invoices, and assisting with financial reports and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Assist in processing invoices, payments, and financial records.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of budget documentation and reports.
- Review financial documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Respond to basic fiscal inquiries and provide general support to fiscal staff.
Requirements
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn and apply fiscal processes and systems.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, based on demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee.
