Job Summary
Job Purpose Statement: Under general supervision of the Executive Director of Business Services, plans, organizes, manages, and directs the operations of a payroll or fiscal services unit; provides leadership in strategic planning, fiscal oversight, and service delivery; supervises business staff and performs complex accounting/payroll and management tasks. This position may manage a payroll services unit or a fiscal services unit related to services for the county office, districts, or Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA).
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in business or education; this requirement may be waived if the individual has demonstrated five years of increasingly responsible successful experience in the area of school finance and administration or has an Associate of Arts degree along with 3-5 years of increasing responsible successful experience in the area of school finance and administration. Completion of a Chief Business Official (CBO) training program is beneficial.
Experience: Prior job-related experience in California school accounting/school finance or payroll/retirement reporting, and electronic spreadsheet, databases and computer data processing. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Pay
Salary Pay Range: $9,475 - $12,698 Monthly. Initial salary is on Step 1 of the Range.
Schedule
Length of Work Year: 8 hours per day, 261 days per year, 5 days per week, 12 months per year. Employment Type: Full Time.

Mandatory Testing: Multiple choice test link will be sent after application deadline and is due by 10:00 pm. Sunday, September 27, 2026.
