Our instruction focuses on language and communication development through participation in exploration, play and socialization opportunities, activities of daily living, and evidence-based curriculum activities.
What You'll Do
- Work with the Assistant Teacher in implementing the Creative Curriculum
- Generate weekly individualized lesson plans
- Complete parent engagement activities
- Complete checkpoints per student across domains by established deadlines
- Provide age-appropriate instruction
- Manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom
- Maintain children's hygiene
- Monitor children for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns
- Work with parents to ensure that children are learning and socializing in a positive way
- Assist with serving meals
- Teach school readiness skills
- Ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment
- Actively engage, encourage, care for and nurture preschool students
Requirements
- A two-year degree in early childhood education or a related field and must be enrolled and demonstrating progress toward the completion of a teacher education program within four years.
- Have at least 6 consecutive months of documented experience working in a DSS-regulated childcare center with children under five years of age.
- Must be proficient with computers.
- Have reliable transportation.
Other Requirements
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Be 18 years of age.
- Provide a clear TB Test and health screening questionnaires.
- Must clear state and federal background checks and pass a health screening.
- Have an issued form of identification
Nice to Have
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Experience with Teaching Strategies Gold and Creative Curriculum
- Experience teaching at another SC Free First Steps 4K location
Benefits
- This First Steps 4K Lead Teacher role pays $19 to $24/Hr.
