About the role
The Finished Products First Line Leader is responsible for the management, coordination, and direction of a crew in the Finished Products department. Safety, people, operations, and communication are key areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage safety, ensuring safety and housekeeping goals are accomplished.
- Support EHS coordinators and Safety Captains, drive safety, conduct incident investigations, safety observations, and inspections.
- Ensure all members understand expectations, conduct one-to-ones, and hold accountable for those expectations.
- Manage daily shift operations with a focus on continuous improvement, support routine and annual outages, and meet production and quality goals.
- Demonstrate effective interaction with all operating departments and mill management, and ensure timely and accurate communication of information.
- Attend and participate in FLL meetings.
- Provide vacation coverage for FLL.
- Engage in reliability efforts, outage execution, weekend duty, training, onboarding new FLLs, capital projects, IPCC audit and adherence, and complete the FLL Proficient curriculum within two years.
- Work overtime as necessary to accommodate departmental needs, including support of 8 Week Scheduled Outages and Annual Outage Execution.
Requirements
- A solid understanding of the Finished Products Area and its processes.
- A demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks, work in a team environment, and execute work based on standards and procedures.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience on the paper machine at the Group II – Operator level or higher, or an engineering degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
- To be considered, candidates must be a member in good standing.
Qualifications

- A demonstrated ability to enforce accountability.
- A solid understanding of the Finished Products Area and its processes.
- A thorough knowledge of all Finished Products Department processes, including critical parameters impacting safety, environmental, costs, quality, and customers.
- A member in good standing.

Pay
$104,000 - $127,000 Multiple factors, including individual experience, skills, and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.
Schedule
Salaried Exempt, Full-Time (12 Hour Rotating Shift)
