What You'll Do Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety CulturePerform minor/routine maintenance or repairs as needed without the assistance of maintenance personnelResponsible for continuous improvement such as suggesting improvements in work methods and proceduresUnderstand start up, shutdown, and emergency proceduresAssist maintenance personnel when requested or neededCommunicate effectively about potential production issues, concerns, and operational needsEnsure equipment inspection reports arecompletedeach shiftEnsure tasks and activities directed by Operations Support Management are completed safely and on timePerform daily housekeeping duties, including maintaininga clean and organized immediate work areaStay alert to unsafe conditions and report them immediatelyTroubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge, experience, and communication with othersWork safely at all times by following safety rules, regulations, and PPE requirementsTrain in all areas of the Melt Shop to include Furnace, Ladle Furnace, Casting Machine, and Refractorieswork with liquid process personnel in the operation, monitoring, and performance of all casting equipment What You'll Need Basic computer skillsMust be able to learn quickly and multitaskWork on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidaysAbility to work overtime when requiredAbility to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skillsAbility to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust, fumes, mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spacesAbility to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidaysAbility to lift up to 50 lbsDependability in attendance, task completion, and flexibility to meet business needs Your Education High School Diploma or GED required We are CMC, a Fortune 500® company at the leading edge of our industry.
