First Asst Surgical Tech
Job Summary

Qualifications
- Competent in all OR procedures as verified by specific competencies and will use these mastery level skills as a preceptor for others.
- Work with Housekeeping and Central Processing staff to clean the Operating Rooms and equipment between patients following facility policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety initiatives to ensure correct surgery inpatient identification, and verification of the procedure to be performed within the OR when the patient is present and prior to the surgical prep.
- Rely on previous experience to anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon.
- Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
- Consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-stocked/organized, and safe patient care environment.

About the Role

What you will need
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire and maintain certification
- Required within 7 days of hire
- Current Operating Room Technician Certification or OTJ training
- PREFERRED
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the Operating Room
- PREFERRED
- Completion of approved First Assist Program
