First Aid Compounder - 3rd Shift
Job Qualifications
An A.S. Degree in science or mechanics is preferred but additional degrees or advanced certifications would be considered.
At least 5 years of experience working with mechanicals, instrumentation, and controls.
Strong knowledge of state and federal policies and procedures.
Familiarity with railcar and tanker truck operations.
Have clear understanding of how to manipulate valves, hoses, and a pumping station to facilitate the transfer of raw materials.
Must have Hazmat Ground shipper/FRA Certification within 90 days of hire, training will be provided for this position. If previously certified, must be within 3 calendar years.
Significant mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic control systems to facilitate the transloading of raw materials.
Position Responsibilities
- Responsible for safe sampling, transload, and unloading operations of raw materials at the facility.
- Stay up to date with all SOP's, documents, and training for the transloading operation including safety and emergency plans.
- Inspect railcar for leaks, damages, car # and any other identified items per SOP.
- Secure railcar upon arrival as per all pertinent SOP's, Track Requirements, etc.
- Take samples of bulk raw material from railcar/trucks and coordinate testing with laboratory.
- Cook up transfer of bulk raw material from Railcar to tanker truck or compounding tanks.
- Initiate hookup of railcar to transloading manifold.
- Initiate hookup of tanker truck to transloading manifold.
- Manipulate valves, switches, and controls to deliver material from car to tanker.
- Print out appropriate ticket for BOL and finalize paperwork for entry into Oracle, etc.
- Responsible for Peroxide and IPA Compounding.
- Stay up to date with scheduled bulk jobs to ensure meeting the needs of the facility.
- Cook up transfer of bulk compound batch records and return to document control.
- Follow batch record SOP for laboratory testing and filling operations.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Able to perform repetitive motions, such as stirring, pouring, or scooping.
- Able to tolerate working in environments with fluctuating temperatures, moderate noise levels, and exposure to chemicals or dust.
